The Knicks are in need of some size and rebounding in the front court, and may have found a likely target.
ESPN New York is reporting that the Knicks are preparing to make an offer to Elton Brand. The Knicks have reportedly targeted Brand since free agency began.
Brand is most likely the best available big man at the price the Knicks are prepared to pay, and would bring some insurance in case Amar’e Stoudemire gets injured early on.
Brand, 34, has averaged 17.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in his 14-year career. If the Knicks do sign Brand, what does that mean for Kenyon Martin.
