Victor Cruz finally got his money from the Giants, but Hakeem Nicks is still patiently waiting for his extension.

Nicks miss a good portion of the Giants’ OTAs because of his contract dispute, and it’s held him back some, as he’s currently dealing with a strained groin.

There are some concerns among the Giants organization about Nicks and his status, but Cruz is hearing none of that.  During an appearance on NFL AM, Cruz put to bed any wide receiver controversy, stating that “Nicks is the Giants No.1 wide receiver.”

“I think the No. 1 wideout is Hakeem Nicks,” Victor Cruz said on NFL Network’s “NFL AM” on Monday. “I mean, he’s been here longer, he understands this offense. He’s our big-play guy, he’s on the outside. So I definitely think he’s our No. 1 receiver, there’s no doubt about it.”

Smart move by Cruz, because a unfocused or unhappy Nicks, means tighter coverage for Cruz to see.

  1. My heart broke when they zoomed in on Nando’s face at the beginning of your match. He looked so sad. I honestly thought he’d come in after the 70th minute or so. I’d adore for him to see some action in Munich.
