The Golden State Warriors are a team on the come up and it looks like they want a new arena to match that. The rendering above is of the proposed $1 Billion dollar stadium located in San Francisco on Piers 30 and 32.

According to a KCBS report:

Building a basketball on the San Francisco waterfront could cost $1 billion, an estimate Golden State Warriors President Rick Welts said is likely to grow as the team analyzes the site at Piers 30-32….

Just rehabilitating the piers in order to begin construction will cost $120 million, twice the original estimate, because of because of piers’ poor condition, Welts said Wednesday in an editorial meeting with KCBS and KPIX 5.

It’s expensive to build on the waterfront and in San Francisco. We all know the cost will end up escalating though so this is just the tip of the iceberg.  Let’s just hope the team is still good when they move into this arena.
