Allen Iverson Officially Retiring from NBA

Polarizing NBA star Allen Iverson has decided to officially hang em up according to SLAM.

“He had a magnificent career, and he enjoyed every minute of it,” says the source. “He enjoyed the places basketball took him, he enjoyed the camaraderie with his teammates and he especially enjoyed that his job was playing the game that he loved.”

“He loves his fans more than anyone,” says the source. “He loves how they ask for his return constantly, on the streets and on the internet. But now that they know it’s not happening, he can just focus on his future endeavors.”

Iverson was an 11-time All_Star, averaged 26.7 points and 6.2 assists per game over his 14-year career with the Sixers, Nuggets, Pistons and Grizzlies. I will spare you all the jokes about him being unofficially retired for a few years (you all were thinking it) and say that there won’t ever be another player quite like “The Answer.” Plus, he gave us perhaps the greatest soundbite ever:
