There was a scary situation at Chargers practice today as Eddie Royal has to be carted off the field and taken away in an ambulance.
Chargers safety Eric Weddle says he was about ten feet in the air and came crashing down. He was able to get to his feet for a minute before crashing back down and having trainers tend to him before an Ambulance and two Fire Trucks came to assist. He was loaded onto a gurney and rushed to a local hospital for examination.
“When a guy gets carried off in an ambulance, you just want him to be healthy, be OK, all football aside,” Philip Rivers said, via NFL.com. “And hopefully that’s the report we’ll get back soon on Eddie.”
Now Adam Schefter is reporting that Royal has a bruised lung and will be evaluated for a concussion.
Not only is this a scary situation for Royal but the Chargers might not have a WR for Philip Rivers to throw to at the rate they are all dropping like flies.
