It appears Revis Island could be back open for business a lot sooner than many originally expected.
We reported the news yesterday that new Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis had competed in 7-on-7 drills for the first time during his recovery from a torn ACL last season. It apparently went well and Revis appears to be ahead of the general recovery schedule. So much so, that according to ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio general manager Mark Dominick is considering playing his star defender in the preseason’s third game.
Playing in week 1 has always been the goal of Revis and the Buccaneers alike, but up until now it had appeared that playing in the preseason may not be in the cards for the defensive back up until now. The team is looking to get him some live game action before the regular season opens against his former team, the New York Jets.
