People don’t go to sporting events fearing for their safety, but maybe they should start thinking otherwise. NBC Sports is reporting that a 29-year old Noel Robinson has fallen from the escalator at Mile High Stadium in Denver. Fortunately, reports are that he actually had fallen a total of 10 feet, instead of a greater distance that was originally thought.
Robinson is reported to be ok and is conscious and talking. Authorities for the stadium issued this statement:
“We are aware of an accident involving a patron falling from an escalator during the fourth quarter of tonight’s game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The victim was taken to an area hospital by Denver paramedics, and Stadium Management Company is working with authorities to gather more information about this incident.”
These incidents seem to be occurring far too frequently. At this point, it’s time for stadium authorities around the country to do a serious audit of the safety features of their facilities.
