We all know that rap music and basketball go together like a cool breeze on a summer night.

Rappers love to reference their favorite NBA star in their latest punchline filled verse.  A cool new infographic done by bdon.org, compares NBA scoring from some the games all time greats, to their yearly mention in a rhyme.

Michael Jordan of course was mentioned the most with 447 lifetime name-drops. Surprisingly most of those after his rookie season, and  long after his playing days were over.

Shaq is second with 156 all time mentions, and Kobe is third.

Yao Ming had a lot more than you would imagine with 35 lifetime name-drops, and Dwight Howard proved that he and rappers don’t go together, after only getting 11 mentions.
