I guess Raymond Felton is tired of all the fat jokes.
The New York Knicks point guard, has been trying to shed the label of being overweight, ever since he played out of shape for the Portland Trailblazers, after the lockout ended. After re-joining the Knicks last season, Felton got back into proper shape and was very productive.
And according to a story via Ian Begley of ESPN New York, Felton says he’ll be quicker than he was last season when he played at 212 pounds after dropping more weight.
“I was quick before, but if you take off 15 pounds, you can be that much quicker,” Felton said Sunday at a Big Brothers-Big Sisters New York City event at St. John’s.
Felton, also intends to play at a faster pace next season and is relishing the opportunity to find his new teammate Andrea Bargnani, on fast breaks.
“I’ll push it right down the court … if I don’t have anything, I know I got him,” Felton said.
