Matt Kemp is having one heck of a hard time returning to full health.
Kemp began a rehab assignment in Single A on Thursday and went 0 for 5 on the night. Kemp had a strike out and two double plays.
Kemp is recovering from injuries on his shoulder and ankles–injuries which have seen him miss the bulk of games this season. Kemp did shrug off the less than stellar start, and if all goes well in the next two games Kemp could be brought back up as soon as Sunday to start with the Dodgers.
Kemp played the role of DH in his first game, and will go to playing in the outfield for the next two games.
Let’s wish him a speedy recovery.
