Nothing can stop Miguel Cabrera.
The Tigers’ ace plans to play through injury, after suffering a freak abdomen injury following an awkward slide to second base in the fifth inning.
Cabrera has no plans to sit for days nursing the injury, and has every intention to play on Friday as the team starts a series against division rival Indians.
“I’m OK,” Cabrera said. “I’ll play tomorrow. Don’t worry.”
Cabrera seemed to be in a lot of pain as he grabbed his left leg and knee after the slide which hurt his abdomen and groin area. It may be best if Miggy rests a game, but at this point in the season it’s doubtful he does with him being locked in on a Triple Crown race, and all.
As it currently stands Cabrera is four homers shy of reaching his goal of a second straight Triple Crown.
