So much for family first.
Come on man, your cousin is an undrafted rookie trying to make a NFL roster and you pull something like this?
Fred Contrada of MassLive.com reported Friday that Michael C. Roper, 25, of Holyoke, Mass., allegedly told Northampton police his name was Robert Steeples when police stopped the car he was riding in as a passenger on July 8.
The article, which sources police documents, says police found a crack cocaine pipe and a pill bottle containing a prescription muscle relaxer in the vehicle. Roper, who claimed the drugs belonged to the driver, was booked under Steeples’ name.
After some back and forth with the Rams, the police were able to figure out that it was really Roper not Steeples, who was no one near Massachusetts when the arrest happened.
If you are an undrafted rookie, you are already on thin ice, can’t give the team any reason to cut you, because they will. Hopefully, the Rams don’t hold this against Steeples who has done well in camp.
