The quarterback battle in New York has a full head of steam and have many wondering just who will be under center for the Jets once the regular season opens. While many pegged Mark Sanchez as the favorite because of his experience, it appears rookie Geno Smith has turned a few heads with his play during training camp.
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, Smith has yet to throw an interception through 8 practices at camp. Something Mark Sanchez has almost made a habit of throughout his career up to this point.
With both players splitting first team reps at this point, don’t be shocked if the Jets decide to throw Geno in the fire and make him the starter for week 1.
