The Boston Herald is reporting that New England TE Rob Gronkowski is doing well and right on schedule with his rehab. In fact, he could return for week 3 against Tampa Bay but could be back even sooner:
According to a source, Gronk is doing very well in his rehabilitation from back and forearm surgeries performed in May and June,” the Boston Herald’s Karen Guregian wrote on Monday. “He’s ‘right on schedule’ for a mid-September return. In fact, he’s healed and advanced to the point where he would be close to playing Week 1 in Buffalo, the source said.”
Considering there were reports very recently that Gronk may need to go on the PUP list, making him ineligible until week 7, this is great news for Patriots fans. The offense has looked sharp in the preseason but getting Gronk back in the mix would be a nice boost for a potential Super Bowl run.
