Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was fined $10,000 for wearing “unauthorized apparel” according to the Washington Post. Griffin was wearing a T-shirt that had “Operation Patience” across the front, which is the Redskins’ plan for easing Griffin back to full team activities. The NFL is strict about what players can be seen wearing on game days when visible to stadium and TV cameras, even during warm ups.
The NFL has been known to levy out fines for ridiculous uniform violations, but a 10k fine for wearing a shirt with a team motto may be one of the worst.
