While it’s been years coming, tolerance for homosexuality in sports is slowly becoming more open. This isn’t the case everywhere in the world, especially in Russia. CBS Sports is reporting that two Russian track athletes may have been responding to a ban in their native country on homosexual propaganda.
While on the podium accepting their gold medals for winning the 4×400 Kseniya Ryzhova and Tatyana Firova, embraced for what appeared as a pretty passionate kiss. It wasn’t your regular peck on the cheek. Neither of the women have commented on the kiss or their motivation for doing it, and you have to wonder if it will have any bearing on the organizers of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
