The Pittsburgh Steelers have now hit a new low.
The franchise that was the standard-bearer for excellence in the NFL is off to its worst start since 1968 after the Steelers fell to 0-4 yesterday.
Pittsburgh gets a bye after having traveled to London to lose to the Vikings, and it’s much-needed. Ben Roethlisberger is disgusted by the play he’s seeing, and pulled no punches when he called his team “the worst in the league.”
“Right now, you could say we’re the worst team in the league, and that hurts,” said Roethlisberger, who finished 36-for-51 passing for 383 yards, one touchdown and an interception. “And as a competitor, you don’t like that.”
Roethlisberger has been bad at times as well, but it’s a miracle he had the stat line that he did on Sunday.
“I just have to hope and believe we can turn it around because we have to believe that we can still be a part of something special,” he said. “And if you don’t believe that, then you don’t need to be on this team or be out here.”
Might it be time to blow things up in Pittsburgh?
