What in the blue hell?
There’s actually a pretty good argument to be made.
This 48-foot billboard was plastered outside Mile High stadium and it calls for the NFL to reverse their policy on those players who get caught using marijuana.
The billboard reads ‘…a safer choice is now (legal here).’ in reference to recreational use of marijuana being legal in Colorado.
The director of communications for the Marijuana Policy Project stated the following:
“For years, the NFL has been punishing players for using [kush] despite the fact that it is far less harmful than alcohol, a substance widely embraced by the league,…The league would never punish a player simply for having a couple beers, so why does it penalize them for using a substance that is less toxic, less addictive, and less likely to contribute to violence.”
All valid points, but I can’t help but feel like the suspension and speculation surrounding Von Miller is the real reason they felt compelled to launch this campaign.
