Gary Payton says there's only three real point guards.

The point guard in the NBA has transformed into 6’3-6’4 guys with electric speed, strength and athleticism. The two prime examples would be Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook. According to Gary Payton, those two guys aren’t ‘real’ point guards.

“We don’t really have point guards in the NBA now. We really have (shooting) guards – and that’s a fact,” Payton said. “I think there’s only three true point guards that play like point guards. I think Chris Paul is one, I think (Rajon) Rondo is one, and I think Tony Parker is the other.”

Payton just motivated all the point guards in the NBA not named Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo and Tony Parker.
