John Fox just had to go and be a Debbie downer didn’t he.
The Denver Broncos are running the ball well this season, all while using a running back by committee approach. Yesterday we reported on the cool story of Broncos’ running backs Ronnie Hillman, Knowshon Moreno, and Montee Ball playing rocks, papers, scissors to determine who would get the touchdown carry on the goalline.
John Fox of course got wind of Hillman’s story and used his Tuesday session with the media to be the hard nosed coach he is, and refute Hillman’s story.
Fox just had to let us know that the Broncos use a more traditional method to decide that Hillman would be the ball carrier on the one-yard touchdown plunge.
“That’s just stuff for people who like to get on TV and have something to talk about,” Fox said, via Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com. “I mean, Ronnie Hillman was going back in the game, that had nothing to do with that, it was just trying to have fun I guess. Ronnie was going in the ballgame. We decide that, that had nothing to do with it.”
I guess John Fox refuted the cool story because god forbid three players might take it upon themselves to unselfishly decide who’d get the carry because the Broncos obviously can’t.
