Now this is how the regular season should end.
In a season chock full of unremarkable tidbits, the Marlins found a way to go out with a bang.
Henderson Alvarez didn’t allow a hit for the first nine innings against the Tigers–but just like the Marlins the Tigers hadn’t given up a run either.
Technically Alvarez had no no-hitter until a wild pitch resulted in Giancarlos Stanton running home with two outs in the bottom of the 9th which secured the Marlins 1-0 victory. And the on deck hitter was none other than Henderson Alvarez, who saw his no-no come to fruition right then and there. Walk off no-no.
This is the fifth no hitter in the franchise’s history. What a way to end a season.
