David Wright to possibly return Friday.

The 7-time all-star has been on the disabled list since August 3rd after suffering a right hamstring strain. Wright has been going through intense workouts this week in order to make a proper return to the lineup.

Mets manager Terry Collins is optimistic his third baseman will return Friday.

When asked if Wright will return Friday, Collins response was “I think so”.

Wright doesn’t want to rush things and end up making matters worst, but he sounds pretty upbeat about the situation.

“It takes a little bit of time to get in that baseball shape and I think I’m getting close,” Wright said today

The Mets face Philadelphia Friday night.
