Football may be an age old pastime, but Sunday reminded us of how gruesome the sport can be. CBS Sports reports that Arizona Cardinals S Rashad Johnson suffered an injury that caused him to lose a part of his left middle finger. Apparently the injury occurred on a punt return when Johnson went to tackle Saints RB Darren Sproles.
When Johnson took his glove off, the finger remained inside the glove. Johnson had surgery and doctors had to shave the finger down to the first knuckle of his finger. There is also a concern for infection since the bone was exposed.
