Report: Grambling fires Doug Williams As Football Coach

I guess the pressures of winning also trickle down to the HBCU programs in college football as well.

The News-Star is reporting that Grambling State has fired Doug Williams as head football coach.  According to Williams, university president Frank Pogue called him into the office, handed him a slip of paper and fired him.

Williams who played for and is a legend at Grambling, was drafted in the first round (17th overall) of the 1978 NFL Draft, and chosen by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

  • This guy is a Grambling State legend. They should have waited until the end of the season to fire him. So disrespectful!
