The News-Star is reporting that Grambling State has fired Doug Williams as head football coach. According to Williams, university president Frank Pogue called him into the office, handed him a slip of paper and fired him.
Williams who played for and is a legend at Grambling, was drafted in the first round (17th overall) of the 1978 NFL Draft, and chosen by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
