Report: Shaq Becomes Sacramento Kings Minority Owner

Yes you read that headline correctly. Shaquille O’Neal has become a minority owner of the Sacramento Kings. The same Kings he dubbed the “Queens” in the video here:

Here is the quote from Shaq:

“What interested me in this deal is the new vision, the new Kings, the new everything,” O’Neal, who so famously deemed the Kings the “Queens” at the start of the 2002-03 season, said. “I’ve always wanted to be part of something like this…It’s going to be great.”

Shaq says his “queens” comment was part of being a marketing genius so we will see just how forgiving the fans are. We will see if he has his hands in a lot of Kings decisions moving forward but one thing we know for sure about Shaq is he will always keep us entertained.

    Good job Shaq. It’s always better to be an owner than a player. One day I hope Shaq becomes a majority owner like Jordan.
