The details are sketchy at this point, but According to the Charleston Daily Mail, West Virginia Mountaineers linebacker d’Vante Henry was arrested Wednesday night and charged with second-degree sexual assault.
There were no details as to what led to the arrest and charges available.
West Virginia officials haven’t spoken on the matter, but they are taking it seriously, because Henry is no longer listed on the team’s online roster.
Head coach Dana Holgorsen announced in a statement a short time ago that Henry has been dismissed from the football program. Holgorsen also acknowledged that Henry had been serving an indefinite suspension at the time of his arrest, which led to a quick trigger on the dismissal.
