Adrian Peterson Says He’s Playing Because God Wants Good To Come From It

Adrian Peterson of course is playing with an extremely heavy heart on Sunday after the passing of his son.

We can skip all the ridiculous comments about the young boy’s paternity and everything else involved.  The facts are a man lost his son, a mother lost her child, and the young child is with God now.

Peterson probably has been asked 100 times why he was playing.  According to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports, Peterson sent sideline reporter @LauraOkmin this text explaining why he’s playing on Sunday.

“My brother passed before the Combine and I decided to go through with it.  The same reason I will play this week.

“You may ask why?  God wants good to come from it…  We mourn and grieve, but Heaven had the baddest welcoming party for my son.  That knowledge gives me peace.

I’m still hurt and feel the pain of life, but I’m able to function because of the peace and joy of knowing my loved ones are in a much better place.”

  • A. Peterson is full of it. He just found out that he was the father of this kid and he never spent anytime with him. Hell the kid carried the name of another man who was in his life daily. Peterson should come out and speak the truth about this situation. Prayers go out to the mother and Real Dad.

  • See this is the problem i have with AP. He is a hypocrit. He likes to envoke God/Jesus into the conversation when it suits him and when he condemns others (Gays, Athletes using PED), but if he is following “GOD”, then why does he have multiple children with multiple women out of wedlock. It definetly is a tragedy what happened to his son. The loss of a child is heartbreaking and I sympathize with the child’s family. My issue with AP isn’t whether he played in the game or not, it’s his hypocrisy, and no-one in the media will call him out on it. The same is true with Dwight Howard. Only BSO has even mentioned Dwight’s multiple baby-mama’s and called him out on it. ESPN, the worldwide leader is absent.
