Bucs Looking to Suspend Josh Freeman Without Pay

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New England Patriots

It seems that someone out there really hates Josh Freeman because more damaging information keeps surfacing about the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting QB. CBS Sports has reported that the Bucs organization fined Freeman at least twice in the last month for conduct detrimental to the team. The fines were for giving an unauthorized interview to ESPN, which didn’t paint the Bucs in a good light, and then missing a team meeting.

Freeman’s bad favor with the Bucs doesn’t end there. Sports Illustrated’s Jim Trotter describes the situation as leading to a suspension without pay.

“The fine potentially sets up a scenario under which Tampa Bay can suspend Freeman without pay. That would allow the team to attempt to trade the fifth-year QB while not paying a portion of his salary.”

The Bucs are actively trying to trade Freeman, but whoever is leaking all of this information isn’t exactly helping the trade situation. Painting Freeman as the rogue citizen doesn’t exactly make GMs want to jump at an opportunity to bring him on to their team.
