Cam Newton: If I’m Playing Great, It’s Because My teammates Are

Now this is the Cameron Newton I’m used to seeing, and would like to see whether good or bad things happen to him on the field.

Newton is playing the best football of his career right now, and the conversation’s after games are no longer about his poor disposition, but rather his leadership and humility.

Asked about his exceptional play recently, Newton didn’t take time to gloat, but rather served praised on those who are finally carrying their weight around him.

“I feel as if my production is off a lot of people’s production as well,” Newton said. “If you want to solely say I’m playing great, it also means a lot of other guys are playing great. This is not a one-man show. I understand that, and I will not have that type of attitude.”

That leadership, accountability, and humility is the Cameron Newton I needed to see.
