Dominic Raiola

After it was found out that Lions OL Dominic Raiola went on a tirade against the Wisconsin band including calling them ‘fat motherf*ckers’, he was pretty defiant about it. Now after a little more time and media exposure to the situation he has apologized:

“My interaction with the Wisconsin Marching Band was inappropriate. I apologize to those I offended along with all of the members of Wisconsin’s Marching Band. I also apologize to the Lions’ organization and my teammates. I understand the standards to which we should conduct ourselves, and my actions Sunday fell dramatically short of those standards.”

Lions President Tom Lewand also issued a statement:

“Due to Dominic’s sincere and appropriate response, there will be no additional disciplinary action by the team. We are also pleased that he is supporting his apology with a significant donation to the Wisconsin Marching Band Fund.”

So it looks like all is forgiven after his “sincere” apology and significant donation. I guess that’s nice but how about not going on a tirade against a bunch of college kids in the first place? Why was he even worried about them? The Lions can never prosper like this.
