NBA: San Antonio Spurs at New Orleans Hornets

The Spurs outlasted CSKA Moscow 95-93 Wednesday.

The Moscow team is lead by legendary head coach Ettore Messina, who spent one season as the Lakers assistant. That was the closes thing the NBA has ever seen to a foreign coach.

We see tons of foreign players in the association but why not coaches?

Popovich believes they can adapt just as their players have.

“A lot of guys could be coaching in our league,” he said. “Basketball has become an international sport. The coaches have improved all over the world, just like players have. There are good coaches and good players no matter where one might look.”

It will take time before you see foreign coaches in the NBA but like with everything else, just give it time.
