When Dwight Howard signed with Houston, Jeremy Lin came out and said he was looking forward to playing with him. Perhaps he won’t get as much of an opportunity as he hoped. It sounds like head coach Kevin McHale isn’t settled on Lin or Patrick Beverly as the starting point guard:
“I have to submit my starting lineup around 5:45 on Wednesday,” McHale told the Houston Chronicle. “Things can always change.”
That isn’t the most ringing endorsement. In fact it’s not an endorsement at all which is a bad sign for Lin. At this point, Lin might be best suited off the bench anyway since Beverly fits the starting lineup better as a complimentary piece with Dwight and James Harden.
Lin’s checks still clear though.
