Dallas Mavericks v Los Angeles Lakers

You can never count out the “Black Mamba” but in this instance, it’s no surprise to find out he’ll miss the season opener on Tuesday against the Clippers.

Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni was asked if Kobe would play Tuesday:

“No,” D’Antoni said after the Lakers’ 111-106 preseason win over the Utah Jazz on Friday to finish out their exhibition schedule 4-4. “My God, I know he’s Superman, but my God. He hasn’t run yet.”

We can expect Kobe to miss at least the first couple of weeks as well.
