After a tumultuous 2012-13 season, the Lakers and Mike D’Antoni are back at it on the hard wood, and questions are already surrounding one of the team’s main players, Steve Nash. Nash is now 39 years old and that means old in the NBA. For him to be considered a key player on the team is not common in basketball. CBS Sports is now reporting that Mike D’Antoni is most likely feeling the same way.
D’Antoni was question about Nash and the fact that he’s only played 52 minutes of game time thus far and his response was simple.
“I’m not concerned. I think this will happen off and on all year, but he’s going to give you a good season and good stuff. We have to take care of him.”
Nash is now the oldest player in the NBA and will turn 40 before the season is over. Even D’Antoni had to admit that Nash would most likely miss playing time throughout the season.
