Northwestern Awards Full Hoops Scholarship To Sr Walk-On (Video)

There’s nothing like persevering and finally obtaining a goal.

According to the Big Lead, James Montgomery III, actually started his career out at Northwestern as a practice dummy for the women’s basketball team.

As a sophomore, Montgomery tried out, and earned a walk-on spot on the Northwestern men’s team and actually appeared in 11 games.

His junior season he was still a walk-on, but did appear in 23 games.  In this video below, Montgomery,  who is beginning his final season on the Wildcats basketball team is presented with a full scholarship by new coach Chris Collins in front of his teammates.
