Zach Hodskins

In August, Florida head coach Billy Donovan offered one-handed high school phenom Zach Hodskins a preferred walk-on spot on his Gator basketball team.

Hodskins, who was born without the bottom half of his arm, was not presented this spot out of charity. He earned it. The senior from Alpharetta has skills, with impressive ball handling and passing abilities, and a nice jumper.

At 6’3″ the guard was extended scholarships to several DII and DIII colleges where he would undoubtedly receive more playing time, but decided to take Donovan up on his offer and committed to be a Gator over the weekend.

What an inspiring story that I’m sure we’ll hear more about next college hoops season. Best of luck to Hodskins.
