Rajon Rondo Says He Might Want to Coach After Playing

Doc Rivers, Rajon Rondo

Could you see a Coach Rajon Rondo? Rondo isn’t at the top of my list of current players that I can see as coaches but that doesn’t mean he won’t try. The injured Celtics PG says Doc Rivers might have inspired him to get into coaching:

“I took a lot away from Doc. I still catch myself laughing at some of the things he’s told certain guys, and now me being the core leader of this team, I mimic some of the things Doc has said to guys. I’ve leaned a lot from Doc. I tried to study his ways as far as a coach because it’s something that I may want to do in the future.”

No one questions Rondo’s basketball IQ at all. However, no one has ever accused Rondo of being liked either which is something that might get in the way of starting a coaching career. Right now he has a bad rep but maybe since he is just 27, he can change that.
