The Boston Red Sox are your 2013 World Series champions.
It hasn’t happened since 1918, but tonight 95 years later, the Red Sox won the Fall Classic in their home in front of their adoring fans.
The Sox underwent a first to worst makeover from last season and didn’t look back. After getting off to a fast start, their grip of the AL East didn’t relent and it was that tenacity and timely hitting which got them to the World Series.
Against the Cardinals it was a total team effort that got the job done. From the fierce pitching battles, to scrappy hitting with men in scoring position, the 2013 Red Sox showed a resilience which proved to be the very heart of what it means to be Boston Strong.
There is no doubt that with their 3rd championship in 10 years, it is the Boston Red Sox who are undoubtedly the team of the decade.
Red Sox defeated the Cardinals 6-1, in a 6 game set which closed out on the field in Fenway.
