The Patriots have had to deal with their fair share of injuries, which is why they brought in Austin Collie. Collie has a history of concussions and every team who he has worked out for is aware that he is one hit away from having a career-ending injury, which is reportedly why the Patriots have an injury waiver included in Collie’s contract.
“I’d rather not talk about that,” Collie told New England reporters. “Guys, I’d rather not talk about the concussions or the past injuries. All that stuff is behind me. I think I’ve been asked those questions, you know, a lot in the past couple of years. I’m ready to put all that stuff behind me and move on. I’m just worried about being here. Being a part of this team and helping any way I can.”
Collie is a solid receiver, so his veteran presence will be good in the locker room and on the field. Hopefully, he can stay away from the big hits.
