Albert Haynesworth fired some serious shots at Chris Cooley and Mike Shanahan after Cooley went off on a radio show where he accused Albert of quitting on the Redskins and wanted to get cut to collect another paycheck. Well Shanny or the “Red Lobster” as Fred Smoot calls him responded today:
“Let me put it this way: The only people I haven’t gotten along with since I’ve been a coach — a head coach, an assistant coach — is someone that’s lazy,” the coach said.
“So the people I look at, that come back and complain or do some of those things that you do when you don’t get along with someone, (they) usually fall into one of those couple of areas,” Shanahan went on. “Lazy, lack of passion and, a lot of times, a lack of character. And he fits all three.”
Obviously Shanahan didn’t like being call “conniving” by Haynesworth. You would think that these guys wouldn’t even care to comment on each other at this point but there must have been some serious bad blood.
As usual, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.
