Corey Maggette can now begin his climb to the top of the NBA’s executive mountain.
After saying on Monday that he would retire if he didn’t make the Spurs, Maggette was waived by San Antonio on Tuesday according SB Nation.
Maggette played in just 18 games last season for the Detroit Pistons, averaging 5.3 points on 35 percent shooting. Maggette has missed significant time throughout his career and his health was a cause for concern for the Spurs, according to Bleacher Report.
The highly intelligent Maggette made over $90 million in his career.
