With rumors swirling that Ben Roethlisberger will be asking the Steelers for a trade after the season is over, one NFL veteran is making it clear that he wants to remain with the team where he began his career. CBS Sports reports that Adrian Peterson has addressed the media to let it be known that he wants to finish his career with the Minnesota Vikings.
“I definitely wouldn’t mind playing here. I feel like we have the right pieces and we can continue to get some more pieces as well to help build this team and make us even stronger. … So, no, [I don’t want to go anywhere else].”
Peterson is now 28 and fully understands what it means to be an aging RB in the NFL.
“I understand that. I know this is a business and things like that happen. So, if it happens, it happens. There’s not much I can’t handle. I’m sure someone will welcome me with open arms if they do decide to trade me. … But it’s a business, so if they trade me, then, ‘Hey.'”
Either way no one knows what the Vikings or Peterson will decide when the trade talk comes into play. For now he remains a Viking.
