AJ McCarron Worried For GF Katherine Webb’s Safety at Iron Bowl
Would Auburn fans really mistreat or try to harm their own beauty queen/alumni?
Katherine Webb will attend Alabama-Auburn in person for the first time Saturday, and according to USA Today, she’s extremely worried for her safety.
“This is the first actual game, Iron Bowl, that I will be attending,” she told USA TODAY Sports last week. “I don’t know what to expect and I’m really nervous.”
It’s ironic, but Webb as an undergraduate says she never attended the game as a student, because financial issues always forced her to sell her tickets.
“I didn’t get to go to the Iron Bowl whenever I was in school because I ended up having to sell my student ticket because I was running low on cash,” she says.
The Iron Bowl will have an amazingly intense feel to this year with both teams ranked in the top five and both having legit national championship aspirations.
The winner of Saturday’s game will play for the SEC Championship in Atlanta.
Webb told USA Today that McCarron is just as concerned.
“Honestly, I don’t know what to expect,” says Webb. “AJ just in his protective nature, we talked about it (Wednesday) night. And he was like, ‘I’m concerned. I don’t know what the fans are gonna do.’ And I’m like, ‘It’s OK. I’ll be sweet, genuine and nice like I always am if anything were to happen.’
“I’m not nervous about the fans,” says Webb. “Of course I want to see AJ have that fourth championship ring, so I really want them to do well. That’s what I’m nervous about. I’m not nervous about his talent or abilities as a player. Of course, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about the outcome.”
