The Houston Texans have gone from Super Bowl contender, to likely participants in the Marcus Mariota, Teddy Bridgewater sweepstakes.
The 2-8 Texans imploded on Sunday during a painful loss to the Raiders. The normally quiet and calm Andre Johnson even had a meltdown, getting into a sideline spat with Matt Schaub.
After the game, the media wanted to know how Johnson felt about his future in Houston. Johnson was asked if he’d want to stick around Houston for a rebuild.
“I’m under contract, so I have to play my contract out,” Johnson said, per ESPN.com. “I can’t do anything about that.”
When asked about the blowup with Schaub, Johnson took the blame, and said “he and Schaub are fine.”
“I messed up, I’ll leave it at that,” Andre Johnson said with a tired-looking smile following the Houston Texans‘ eighth consecutive loss.
The Texans should trade Johnson for assets.
Besides, he shouldn’t have to sit through another rebuilding year.
