It hasn’t been a pretty season thus far for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and there have been several reports of unrest throughout the ranks. One of the reports was that their franchise QB Ben Roethlisberger for permission to explore trade options in the offseason. CBS Sports is now reporting that Roethlisberger is now denying any of this and is affirming his passion for the Steelers organization.
“I’d retire before I’d accept a trade. I mean, it would have to be something really, really unbelievable for me to even consider it. I have talked to my wife about that. I don’t want to be anywhere else. This is where we want to be.”
Roethlisberger reportedly went as far to speak directly to the Rooneys in order to put the rumors to rest, but we all know that usually where there’s smoke, there’s definitely a fire close behind. Big Ben has helped the organization achieve two Super Bowl victories, so it would be one of the biggest decisions from both parties if a trade did eventually happen.
