When Wes Welker first left the Broncos game on Sunday against the Chiefs, it wasn’t because of a concussion. At least this is what is being reported by NBC Sports. The Broncos originally feared Welker had a neck injury and sidelined him briefly. However, when it was determined there was no apparent neck injury, Welker returned to the game.
Broncos officials now say that Welker showed concussion-like symptoms later on and that’s when he was pulled for good from the game. However, now Welker has to be cleared to play by an independent neurologist if he is too see any action against the Patriots on Sunday.
