To say the season has been rough for the Miami Dolphins would be a euphemism, but moreso it’s been disappointing for their blockbuster contract WR Mike Wallace. However, according to NBC Sports after beating the Chargers on Sunday, Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman had some high remarks for Wallace, and Wallace couldn’t disagree with Sherman more.
Sherman commented on Wallace’s Sunday performance saying:
“I thought Mike had a tremendous ball game. He ran hard, and he ran his routes very disciplined. He was open on a number of occasion and sometimes it was protection issues and we didn’t get him the ball, other times we just didn’t get him the ball, but I thought Mike had a tremendous impact in that ball game, because he changed how they played us and allowed us an opportunity to control the game with some runs and what not.”
Wallace on the other hand wasn’t at all impressed with any of his play last Sunday.
“He raved about the game I had? I had 39 yards.”
I would have to agree with Wallace on this one. For the year he’s accumulated 44 catches for 534 yards and 1 TD, so either Sherman is delusional or he’s trying a different approach to get Wallace motivated.
