Ex Jazz G Bryon Russell Says Jordan Was Scared To Play Him 1-on-1 (Video)
Former Utah Jazz guard Bryon Russell must be delusional or very confident.
According to TMZ, Russell says Michael Jordan chickened out of playing him in a game of 1-on-1, after Jordan took a shot at Russell during his hall of fame speech.
During that Induction speech, Jordan said this in regards to Russell.
“From this day forward, if I ever see [Bryon] in shorts, I’m coming at him
I guess in Russell’s eyes, the two have been rivals ever since Jordan sank this smooth jumper over him in 1998 to win his 6th NBA Championship.
Well Russell called into TMZ recently and made a startling claim or revelation depending on how you want to look at it. According to Russell, Jordan was scared to play him one on one for charity.
Well, TMZ Sports has learned … that right after MJ’s HOF speech, Russell placed a call to Jordan, challenging him to a televised 1-on-1 match … and the profits would all go towards charity.
But Jordan REFUSED — and according to Bryon, who called in to “TMZ Sports” Jordan didn’t even give a good reason … “he just didn’t wanna do it.”
Still, Russell GUARANTEES he would have (and still could) beat Michael if the NBA legend ever changes his mind — saying, “There’s no ‘Jordan rules’ when you play 1-on-1.”
