Sean Armond is the senior guard for the Iona Gaels. He’s also their leading scorer at 18.5 points a game.
Armond is not shy about letting his feelings be known, last year before facing Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Armond said it wouldn’t be an upset if his 15 seeded Gaels won. Ohio State went on to defeat Iona 95-70.
A new college basketball season is here and Armond still elects to run his mouth. Iona played in Allen Fieldhouse last night and was crushed by Kansas 86-66. Freshmen phenom, Andrew Wiggins had a quiet game by his standards, posting 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
Sean Armond was not impressed:
Of course this kid is the headline on espn. Overrated

I understand where Armond is coming from because ESPN is known for over hyping players at times. Andrew Wiggins gets a spectacular dunk and they make him the headline story, when in actuality Perry Ellis and Joel Embiid were the stars for Kansas last night.
At the same time, there’s just some stuff you don’t tweet. Especially when you shot 5-of-15 from the field and coughed up four turnovers.
